By day I do mold remediation work for a large commercial restoration company. I also run a website on the hardware we use - air scrubbers and commercial dehumidifiers - as a hobby and to try to make a little extra income. Mold remediation is the process of completely removing mold from a residence or business. It isn’t the same as ‘removal’. Removal would be getting the mold that could be seen taken care of. Mold remediation is much more invasive and usually happens after a flood or other event which lead to water permeating a building’s construction materials or furnishings. Remediation involves removing excess moisture and standing water, removing airborne mold spores, removing mold, treating any surfaces that can be spared and restoring the space to a safe condition.
